Son of Futility Watch

According to this article, the wholesale price of gasoline went up six yen a liter today. I drove by a gas station, and the retail price of gas is now 151 yen per liter, a 10 yen (!) jump from yesterday.

That pushes Japanese gas prices to just about $5.00 a gallon.

Gah.

Wow, the Blogger doodad thinking I'm in Sweden. "Lämna din kommentar". Heh. Actually, I'm in Gothenburg. Very perceptive. Too bad it can't tell that I can read about one Swedish word in ten.

If I'm doing the arithmetic correctly, the mid- and high-grade gasoline prices here in Gothenburg appear to be about USD $6.10/gallon. Diesel is a bit cheaper.

Now I am at Ricky's parents'.

You know, I thought that gas prices in the states were expensive until I realized that they were in gallons and not in litres.

FYI South Korea is about 6US$/gallon, and UK is around 8, 8.50US$/gallon
