Typhoon #9

One of the good things about living on the Japan Sea side of Japan is that when the typhoons come, they either turn along the Pacific coast, or are somewhat weakened by passing overland before they hit here.

I managed to depart Tokyo without any problem
on Thursday afternoon, roughly 8 hours before the typhoon (named Fitow in one report I read) was supposed to make landfall. And landfall was expected SW of Tokyo, so everyone told me not to worry about problems at the airport.

Sunny and 20C and *dry* air here, courtesy of our friends in Canada. The damn-humid-and-thank-God-it-isn't-even-hotter weather was one of only two things I didn't like about this visit to Tokyo. (Louise in MN was the other.)
