Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

...is a quick read. It arrived at my door at 8:30 Saturday morning (that's 6:30 Friday evening, back in the states) and I had it finished Saturday evening, despite working a full shift and attending a goodbye-party for another English teacher in the evening.

'Twas good.

And now the wait begins for the last book...

Finally!

Star Wars: Episode III finally opened in Japan last Saturday. I saw it Monday. My verdict: I liked it. Certainly better than Episode I. Lucas finally had the sense to stay away from stuff he isn't good at -- i.e. romance.

I picked up a few souvenirs, too -- Japanese movie theaters always have a selection of cool stuff for sale next to the overpriced candy and such. I got a program, a postcard set of most of the posters from Episode IV (including one Japanese one), and a 下敷き with an interesting montage of pictures from the whole saga on it.

Of course, when I mentioned this to my boss, she shook her head and walked away, muttering, "otaku...maniac...."

You ever have a craving for something you KNOW you can't get? (I'm not sure that I can get this without leaving the prefecture...)
