Yep, it's yet another online quiz. Either I have too much free time, or else...no, I just have too much free time.

Futility Watch

So, I pulled into the local self-serve gas station yesterday, only to start swearing profusely when I saw that gasoline was up to 140 yen per liter.

At today's exchange rates, that's $4.34 a gallon. Gah.

Air Show!

Last Sunday, May 27th, I went to an airshow at Miho Air Base, about 15-20 minutes away from here by train and on foot. I had always meant to go, but in previous years, I never actually made the effort, although I could hear the planes flying overhead.

Having made the effort this year, I can say that it was a lot of fun.



These pictures are of the JASDF Blue Impulse aerobatic team, the closing act of the airshow.



There were about 80,000 people there, apparently. Imagine standing in a crowd of 80,000 people, almost all at least 15-20 cm shorter than you. It's kind of surreal.
